Mr. Jiho Lee is a Counselor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the United States. He works with the Embassy’s Congressional Section, and has an extensive background on issues across East Asia and the Indo-Pacific. After completing his national military service with the rank of Lieutenant, he joined the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (present-day Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in August 2004. Jiho also served at the Ministry’s Protocol Office, Northeast Asia Division, Consular Services Division, and the International Legal Affairs Division. His overseas assignments prior to the United States include Assistant Representative to the Korean Mission in Taipei, First Secretary at the Korean Embassy to the People’s Republic of China, and Counselor at the Korean Embassy to Thailand. Jiho has a Master of Science from Bristol University’s East Asian Centre (2008), and a Bachelor of Arts from Seoul National University College of Humanities (1999). He is married with two daughters.
