Troy Stangarone comments on impact of Japan-Korea dispute on China

Speaking with CNBC, KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone noted that China could be a major beneficiary of the ongoing trade dispute between Korea and Japan. In addition to the harm caused by the rise in semiconductor prices, global technology firms may look to fill any shortfalls in supply with chips from nascent Chinese firms. This would weaken the U.S. government's efforts to discipline actors like Huawei who may soon be able to turn to the growing domestic chip industry for much needed component parts.
