KEI President Kathleen Stephens "Linchpin Under Strain"

Reflecting on tensions between Korea and the United States in her latest column for the Joongang Ilbo, KEI CEO and President Kathleen Stephens agreed that there are many reasons to be concerned. Simultaneously, she wrote:
“I have heard firsthand the broad bipartisan support for the U.S.-South Korea alliance that exists in the United States. Congress, and, to the extent that my travels outside Washington provide anecdotal evidence, I can confirm that I hear it across the United States.”
With a strong emphasis on the importance of the outcome of the 2020 election, she reiterated that the U.S.-Korea alliance ran deeper than the security ties.
