Writing for a series by Chosun Ilbo on meaninful Korean words, Ambassador Stephens chose the word ___, which roughly translates to "diligent" in English.
In the article, she looked back on her experience first learning Korean and how often the word reappeared in everyday conversations – she went on to highlight some features of the Korean langauge that make it so expressive and versatile, but also quite challenging to learn without diligent dedication.
