There have been significant changes in the global economy and international relations since the KORUS FTA was signed three years ago. Join KEI for a discussion of what these changes mean for policy makers as they consider the KORUS FTA with Jeff Schott of the Peterson Institute for International Economics as he discusses his paper “Free Trade Agreements and the Future of U.S.-Korean Trade Relations.” In the paper he explores developments in six key areas – the global economic crisis, the decline in the U.S. share of Korean trade, exchange rate movements, changes in auto production and trade, beef trade, and political developments regarding North Korea.
