The School of International Service at American University (SIS) and KEI invite you to attend KEI’s twenty-first annual Academic Symposium, which this year will be titled “Tomorrow’s Northeast Asia” from October 20–22 in SIS" brand new facilities here in Washington.

While this symposium takes place at a different university around the country every year’s location and timing will provide an unprecedented opportunity to bring together leading policy makers, scholars, and analysts from the United States as well as throughout the Asia-Pacific region to discuss pressing issues of mutual concern… right here in D.C.

Symposium topics include:

1. Energy Security in Northeast Asia
2. Regional Cooperation (ASEAN+3, G20, APEC, etc.)
3. Emerging Asian Leaders in Global Development
4. What to do about North Korea
5. Navigating the Negotiations of the Six Party Talks

And much more!

Following the event, the Symposium proceedings will be published in KEI’s Joint U.S.-Korea Academic Studies, and distributed to over 3,500 of the world’s leading Korea watchers. SIS joins the most recent hosts of KEI’s annual Symposium, NYU, USC, Harvard, and the East-West Center in Honolulu and is proud to be the Washington home for this year’s exciting event!

The symposium will also include networking receptions and dinners on the 20th and 21st and all are welcome (but RSVPs required).
