The China Conundrum: How do North Korea-China Ties Affect U.S. Interests in the Six Party Talks?

Read Event Description

Event Date

February 3rd 12:00pm - 12:00am EST

Event Description

As the Obama Administration evaluates the Six Party process and the prospects for reaching an agreement on North Korea’s nuclear disarmament, one key factor to consider is improving relations between China and North Korea. After North Korea’s nuclear test, sanctions had little impact on North Korea because of China’s reluctance to pursue aggressively a sanctions policy. How might improving relations between the two countries affect U.S. and multilateral interests and objectives in the Six Party process? Join KEI and the Atlantic Council for a discussion of the impact of North Korea-China relations on the prospects for the Six Party Talks.
