Event Description
On Friday October 14, KEI hosted an off the record discussion with Simon Cockerell of Koryo Tours. Koryo Tours was one of the first companies to bring tourists to North Korea and has facilitated the production of several high profile films, including Crossing the Line, State of Mind, and The Game of Their Lives. Now working as General Manager, Simon Cockerell has been with Koryo Tours for nearly a decade – having tallied up over one hundred visits to the country and contributed to the success of several exchanges involving sports, schools and culture.
Simon talked about recent changes he has seen and experienced as a regular visitor, new destinations that are opening up, the importance and relevance of cultural exchanges, and other insights about the current situation in North Korea.
