Beijing's "Sunshine Policy with Chinese Characteristics": Implications for Washington and Seoul

Dr. John Park will address the China-North Korea relationship in light of recent North Korean behavior, and China’s current pursuit of a “Sunshine Policy” with Chinese characteristics. Dr. Park will discuss implications of this pursuit for Washington and Seoul, for the future viability of the Six-Party Talks, for nascent localized market activity in North Korea, and for the future of joint Chinese-North Korean economic development activities, in particular in the area of developing North Korea’s natural resources.
