The Republic of Korea will hold its 20th presidential election on March 9, 2022. Heading into the polls, the two main candidates—the ruling Democratic Party’s Lee Jae-myung and the main opposition People Power Party’s Yoon Seok-youl—have been neck-and-neck in what many have observed as the most heated presidential election in recent memory.
As the campaigns come to a dramatic finale, please join the Korea Economic Institute for a follow-up discussion on the presidential election and its results with Mr. Park Sung-min, a leading analyst of South Korean politics. He will reflect on the outcome and follow up on insights from his prior conversation with KEI—on the ramifications for how Korea will face its challenges in electoral politics, gender divisions, economic inequality, foreign policy, and political polarization.
This conversation will be held live via Zoom Webinar on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:00 U.S. EST.
