Hannah June Kim is an incoming assistant professor in the Graduate of International Studies at Sogang University. She was previously an assistant professor in the department of political science at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and a postdoctoral fellow at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia Pacific Research Center at Stanford University. Her research examines public opinion, gender, and democracy in East Asia, with a focus on South Korea. Her current book project, Modernization and Democratic Citizenship In East Asia, examines how and why people view democracy in systematically different ways. Her work has been published in the Journal of Politics, PS: Political Science & Politics, and Pacific Affairs.
