Hanbeom Jeong is currently a professor at the Korea National Defense University (KNDU) and a member of Space Security Working Board of Korea National Space Council. Recently, he served as a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee for National Policy Planning. He graduated from Korea University with BA and MA and received a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Kentucky. He has served as a member of the policy advisory committee of the Office of National Security and as a standing member at the National Peaceful Unification Advisory Council. He was also the Director, Centre for National Defense in Research Institute for National Security Affairs (RINSA) and a president of Korean Space Association for National Security. He is the President-elect of the Korean Association of International Studies for 2026.
