Politico Article on Auto Tariffs Cites KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone

April 11, 2019

As President Moon visits Washington DC to discuss next steps on negotiations with North Korea, an article on Politico reminded readers that South Korea also has a looming issue in the commercial relationship with the United States. Addressing the prospect of Section 232 investigation into autos and auto parts recommending tariffs on U.S. imports from South Korea, the Politico article cited KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone who highlighted the risk that visible differences between Seoul and Washington posed at this delicate moment in U.S.-DPRK negotiations.
