Korea Economic Institute of America Presents:

What If North Korea Says No?: Medium-to-Long Term Strategic Options for the Other Five Parties

Read Event Description

Event Date

July 9th 12:00pm - 12:00am ET

Event Description

Much of the strategy for dealing with North Korea is based on the premise that at some point North Korea will have to return to negotiations. However, North Korea’s current actions indicate that it may not be interested in returning to talks in the near-to-medium term and that even if it does it may never give up its pursuit of a nuclear deterrent. Join the Atlantic Council and KEI for a discussion of the policy options open to the United States, China, and South Korea should North Korea not return to the talks, as well as the implications for peace, security, and nonproliferation in the region.
