Early in the pandemic, North Korea shut its borders to the outside world to prevent the domestic spread of COVID-19. While Pyongyang continues to report that it has no cases of COVID-19, protecting North Korea’s population and returning to pre-pandemic life will require vaccination. This is equally important for stemming the long-term global ripples of the pandemic. As many countries have learned, vaccinating a country’s population is a difficult task.

Please join KEI for a discussion of how to vaccinate North Korea with Kee B. Park, MD. Dr. Park is a Lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of the North Korea Program at the Korean American Medical Association. He leads the collaboration between U.S. and North Korean physicians. Since 2007, he has made 18 visits to North Korea, most recently in May 2018.

Please send any questions for the panels to Yong Kwon at yk@keia.org by Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
