Alexander (Sandy) Vershbow has just completed a three year assignment as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. He served at a critical period in U.S.-ROK relations—the last years of the Roh Moo-hyun administration and the first seven months of the Lee Myung-bak administration. He has participated in and witnessed the transformation of U.S. policy toward North Korea, the successful KORUS FTA negotiations, and the decision to transfer Wartime OPCON by 2012. Join KEI on Thursday, November 13 as Ambassador Vershbow offers his ON-THE-RECORD perspective on the U.S.-ROK relationship during his tenure and offers his thoughts on what lies ahead following the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.
