You are invited to attend a meeting of the Korea Club on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The event will feature His Excellency Ahn Ho-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United States, who will give a presentation entitled, “South Korea-U.S. Relations: Past, Present, Future.”  

You are invited to attend a meeting of the Korea Club on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The event will feature His Excellency Ahn Ho-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United States, who will give a presentation entitled, “South Korea-U.S. Relations: Past, Present, Future.”

Ambassador Ho-young Ahn is the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to the United States. He began his posting in June of 2013. Ambassador Ahn is a career diplomat who has served as the Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, and as First Vice Foreign Minister.   Ambassador Ahn has a strong background in trade. Previously, Ambassador Ahn worked as Deputy Minister for Trade, the Director-General of the Multilateral Trade Bureau, Director of the International Trade Law Division in the Office of the Minister for Trade, as well as a Counselor at the Republic of Korea’s permanent mission to the United Nations. In 2008, Ambassador Ahn served as the President’s Sherpa for the G-20 and G-8 outreach meetings.   Ambassador Ahn received his BA in International Relations from Seoul National University and an MSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

The reception will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm, and the speaker’s presentation and Q & A session. The program will conclude at 9:00 pm. The cost of the dinner is $25.00, payable at the door by either check or cash.
