The Obama administration’s efforts to rebalance U.S. policy toward Asia has drawn attention again after the lack of Asia substance in the State of the Union address and in debating the countries President Obama should visit on his trip to the region in April. However, the debate about the impact of the U.S. rebalance to Asia is also taking place in the region. Countries like South Korea are trying to decipher how this policy could impact bilateral relations with the United States and relations with neighbors.
Join KEI as it hosts Karl Friedhoff from the Asan Institute for Policy Studies to talk about his Academic Paper Series report on South Korean views on the U.S. rebalance to Asia.
This event was originally scheduled to be a combined event with a presentation by Dr. Thomas Dolan, Dr. Kyle Christensen, and Dr. Kimberly Gill from Columbus State University on their latest research conducted in South Korea examining Korean views of unification. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, the event could not be combined as originally planned. A separate event with Dr. Dolan, Dr. Christensen, and Dr. Gill will be scheduled in the near future.
