Event Description

The Republic of Korea will hold its 20th presidential election on March 9, 2022. The ruling Democratic Party nominated former Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung as their presidential candidate while the main opposition People Power Party will be fielding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl.

As the campaign heats up, please join the Korea Economic Institute for a discussion on the upcoming presidential election with Mr. Park Sung-min, a leading analyst of South Korean politics. He will share insights on the current political landscape, how it has changed over time, and why this election is so unique compared to past ones. In addition, he will highlight key factors to weigh in this election such as ideology, regionalism, gender, and generation.

This conversation will premiere on KEI’s YouTube channel on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 U.S. EST.
