You are cordially invited to the 17th Annual 727 Armistice Day Commemoration on the evening (6-8pm) of Wednesday, July 24, 2024, taking place at the Cannon Caucus Room (Room 390) inside the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, DC 20003.
This year will be extra special as it marks the 15th anniversary of the enactment of a bill that created the National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day (July 27th) in the United States in 2009.
There will be a Nanta (Korean traditional drumming) performance, remarks by Members of Congress, and the presentation of medals to Korean War veterans.
Also featured at the event will be a photo exhibit of the Korean War by Lim In-Sik, South Korea’s first war photographer.
We hope you can join us to honor Korean War Veterans and light a candle (at 7:27pm) as we remember the sacrifices that were made during the Korean War and hope for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Light dinner with beverages and candles will be provided.
Presented by LG, the event is co-hosted by: the Council of Korean Americans (CKA), Hwarang Youth Foundation, Federation of Korean Associations USA, Korean American Grassroots Conference (KAGC), Korea Economic Institute (KEI), The Korea Society, and Remember727.
The four Korean American Members of Congress (Reps. Young Kim, Marilyn Strickland, Michelle Steele and Andy Kim) are honorary co-sponsors.
