Biography

Yohan Moon is a Researcher at the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI). His research focuses on the politics and political economy of the Korean Peninsula and the U.S.–ROK alliance, with topical work on trade and industrial policy (including shipbuilding and tariffs), defense cost‑sharing, and domestic political dynamics in the Republic of Korea. At KEI, Yohan designs and executes qualitative and quantitative research; drafts and rigorously fact-checks reports, special briefs, and committee materials; and maintains cross-cutting trackers on security, trade, technology, and economic security and supports English↔Korean for documents and speaking events.

Prior to his current role, Yohan was a Research Intern at KEI and a senior staff assistant intern with the Korea Center at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where he worked on political and economic developments in the Indo-Pacific. He previously served in the Republic of Korea Air Force at Osan AB as an interpreter for joint U.S.–ROK alliance operations with USFK. Yohan is an M.A. candidate in Asian Studies at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service with an honors certificate in International Business Diplomacy. He holds a B.A. in International Studies and Asian Studies from American University School of International Service.
