UPI Interviews Kyle Ferrier on

In response to North Korea's demand for the United States to return an interdicted vessel, KEI's Kyle Ferrier observed that further diplomatic progress is possible despite Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump ratcheting up tensions. In particular, Ferrier remarked on the North Korean ambassador's engagement with the press and raised the possibility of Pyongyang guaging American public opinion before taking further actions. As such, Pyongyang may still look to engage the United States diplomatically. 

In addition, Ferrier noted that it was still premature to dicount a possible inter-Korean summit next month.
