Ri Sol Ju and Kim Jong-un

On September 20, KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone’s April 2018 interview with CNN was quoted in an MSN Indonesia article about Ri Sol-ju, the wife of Kim Jong-un. Troy’s comment that “in North Korea, nothing is accidental” was used to support the article’s argument that the selection of Ri Sol-ju as First Lady was a very deliberate decision.
