RFA quotes Senior Director Stangarone on Treasury's warnings to Korean banks

KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone was interviewed by Radio Free Asia on the US Treasury Department's recent query into South Korean commerical banks' planned activities in North Korea. As President Moon explores expanding inter-Korean economic cooperation, Stangarone reminds audiences that even activities such as insurance products for North Korean citizens or entities could violate existing sanctions. He warns against banks moving too quickly on expanding banking services to the North, including recent efforts to explore possibility of South Korean citizens leaving inheritance to North Korean relatives.
