Korea Compass: The Korean Approach in Africa: Sustainable Development through Public Private Partnership
October 20, 2011 – Korea Economic Institute hosted seminar entitled “The Korean Approach in Africa: Sustainable Development through Public Private Partnership” will explore Korea’s development projects and challenges faced in Africa. The event was moderated by KEI's Sarah Yun.
Although Korea has been a historically non-traditional actor in Africa, it has emerged as a key investor and development assistance provider in the recent years. The panel will explore the uniqueness of the “Korean Approach” by examining the reasons African countries are partnering with Korea as opposed to other economic partners like China and the U.S. Finally, the panelists will analyze the importance of Public Private Partnership in Korea-Africa relations and sustainability of Africa’s economic development.
