CNBC Quotes Troy Stangarone on "Ripple Effect" in Korea-Japan Tensions

As tensions between Korea and Japan deepen, CNBC is continuing to monitor the economic fallout. They turned to KEI Senior Director Troy Stangarone for analysis of what economic consequences we can anticipate going forward. Stangarone noted that there would be a "global ripple effect."
He points out that a lot of focus has been on semiconductor fabrication. However, the petrocemical industry could also be impacted by Japan's export restraint. More importantly, Stangarone underscores that Japan's weaponization of trade “will come at the cost of efficiencies gained through decades of building supply chains across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.” This threatens to act as a drag on the global economy.
