With the White House's announcement that the renegotiation of the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement may have addressed the security concerns cited by the Department of Commerce in the Section 232 investigation into motor vehicles and parts, Channel A news interviewed KEI's Kyle Ferrier on whether this meant the end of the trade friction between Korea and the United States.
Ferrier underscored that the increase in U.S. auto imports from Korea in the next 180 days could shift opinions back in favor of tarification.
