Bloomberg interview Mark Tokola on the Korea-Japan Dispute

September 19, 2019 · 0 min read

Mark Tokola, Korea Economic Institute of America vice president, discusses the trade dispute between Japan and South Korea with Bloomberg's Shery Ahn and Paul Allen on "Bloomberg Daybreak: Asia."

In response to questions on what the United States could do to mend ties, Tokola noted that the United States could provide a venue for a discussion to take place. He observed that Korea is in a difficult place because it cannot be too alarmist and risk foreign investors to abandon Korea - but simultaneously, Seoul needs to underscore that this is a issue that warrants serious arbitration.
