Dr. Sungil Kwak is the Director (Senior Research Fellow) of the Economic and Security Strategy Department and a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). He has an extensive track record of studying the management performance of Korean firms located in Southeast Asia. Since the mid-2010s, he has emphasized that Korean firms have to contribute to establish ASEAN regional supply chains. He graduated from George Washington University and received Ph.D in Economics. Currently, he is also served as a director of National Center for APEC Studies as well as a vice president of International Association of Area Studies.
