Biography
Dr. Suk-hyun Kim is a Senior Research Fellow at the Office of Security Strategy Research, Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS). Her research focuses on East Asian international politics, Japanese foreign policy, and Korea-Japan relations. She previously served as International Affairs Advisor to Ichiro Ozawa, Member of the House of Representatives in Japan, and as Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Law, Tohoku University. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and received an M.A. and Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Tokyo. Dr. Kim has published widely on regional security and diplomacy, including works on Korea-Japan relations, U.S.-China strategic competition, and Japan’s foreign policy.
