Deputy Director of Korean and Mongolian Affairs

Mr. Lyn Debevoise has served as Deputy Director of Korean and Mongolian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State since June 2021. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Debevoise was Deputy Economic Counselor at U.S. Embassy Kyiv and Chief of the Political/Economic section at U.S. Embassy Riga. He served at the National Security Council as Director for Central and Eastern European Affairs from 2013-14, where he was responsible for a dozen countries and coordinated U.S. government efforts in response to Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity. Earlier assignments include Romania Desk Officer and overseas postings in China and Slovakia. Mr. Debevoise is a recipient of the Department of State Director General's Award for Impact and Originality in Reporting. He is a graduate of Williams College and studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
