Biography
Hyun Ji Rim is Lecturer for Strategic Studies and the Masters in Global Policy (MAGP) program at School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University. She writes extensively on extended deterrence, Indo-Pacific strategy and East Asian security dynamics. Her most recent article on comprehensive extended deterrence in the Washington Quarterly that she coauthored with Dr. Sung-han Kim, and others have been published in the Pacific Review, International Journal of Conflict Management, the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, Asian Perspective, etc. She has held research fellowships with Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tuft University and Pacific Forum CSIS. She holds a PhD in international relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, a MA in International Relations from Korea University, a BA in Korean Studies and French Language and Literature from Ewha Woman’s University.
