Axel Catellier is a senior research analyst and executive assistant for Mr. Markus Garlauskas and the vice president of the Sejong Society of Washington D.C., a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of Korea specialists. He previously interned at the U.S. Department of State and the Wilson Center. His research interests include South Korean foreign policy, the impact of U.S.-China competition on U.S. alliances in Northeast Asia, and North Korean nuclear and ballistic missile development. Mr. Catellier earned an M.A. in Asian Studies from Georgetown University and a B.A., summa cum laude with college and departmental honors, in Asian Humanities from UCLA.
