Arthur (Art) Taylor began his tenure with the Korea Economic Institute in June of 2008 in the newly created position of Associate Director for Communications and Technology.  He is responsible for publication and graphical design, website management, and IT-related projects within KEI.  He comes to the Institute with over seven years of communications and information technology expertise, including digital media and non-profit communications practice.

Before joining KEI, Mr. Taylor was the Communications & Web Coordinator with the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, where his primary functions included e-blast creation and distribution, graphic design, website maintenance and management, and design of other media for publication.  Prior to this position, he was the Digital Media Services Manager for The Catholic University of America, where he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.  While at CUA, his innovative spirit began to bloom, which helped CUA to earn a spot on the Forbes Top Ten list of Most Connected Campuses in 2004.  Among these innovations were the first ever live streaming broadcasts of NCAA Men’s and Women’s basketball games; CUA also hosted the first ever world premiere of an operatic performance (“Agamemnon”) via the same streaming video medium.  His other projects included directing distance learning projects via teleconferencing and “webcasting,” digitizing and archiving various university events and historic materials, and upgrading and maintaining the “Smart Rooms” on campus.

He is married to Anna Taylor, analyst for the Homeland Security Institute.  From their home in Crofton, MD, he pursues his hobbies of racquetball, classic cinema, and travel.  In addition, he spends a great deal of time in the kitchen creating new culinary comestibles; his specialties include fresh and exotic salsas, homemade soups, and sauce-making.
