KEI President Receives Hanmi Club Award

SEOUL, South Korea – On December 15, 2014 at its tenth annual Korean American Friendship Dinner, KEI President & CEO Donald Manzullo received the second annual Hanmi Club Award, also known as the Korean American Friendship Award. The first recipient of the award was Sung Kim, then U.S. Ambassador to the United States.

Attended by over 450 individuals comprised of U.S. & ROK service members, officials and leaders; the Hanmi Club holds this annual program to thank those who contribute towards this mission of "enhancing understanding between our two great countries".

During his remarks, Board Chairman David Pong, considered as the Walter Cronkite of Korea for his longstanding career in journalism, highlighted the significance of the US-ROK alliance and expressesd his gratitude to President Manzullo for his many contributions towards strengthening the friendship and ties that binds the U.S. and Korea together.

On behalf of Foreign Minister Yu, MOFA Deputy Minister Lee congratulated President Manzullo for greatly contributing to bilateral ties, before as a Congressman and now as the President of the Korea Economic Instiute of America.

Upon receiving the award, President Manzullo expressed his deep appreciation to the people of Korea and the United States and accepted the award on behalf of those who recognize the importance of the US-ROK alliance.
