Julia Cunico is the Associate Director for Programs of the Korea Economic Institute, having joined the institute in September 2005. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fairfield University in May 2005 with a dual B.A. degree in Politics and Asian Studies. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Sigma Nu, and Pi Sigma Alpha, an alumna of the Fairfield University Honors Program, and a 2005 Fulbright Recommended Student.
Her role is diverse and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the organization. She manages the logistics for KEI events and ensures a flawless event from the moment the invitations are sent out to the conclusion of the program. Ms. Cunico is also responsible for maintaining and ensuring the quality of KEI’s substantial contact database, which is used to compile mailing lists for KEI publications and event invitations. Among her other duties: she is KEI’s in-house photographer, maintains and updates KEI’s economic datasheets, and assists in managing KEI’s computer system.
Ms. Cunico’s areas of interest include Asia and Pacific affairs, U.S.-Asia foreign policy and public speaking and debate. She hopes to pursue a career that involves further study of international relations with a focus in Asian affairs.
